IJsselmeer

Route

It is advisable to use the visit planner to visit the Museum. It shows you what's on at the Museum on the day of your choice. Generate your personal route description here.

By Car

Follow the signs for 'Zuiderzeemuseum' that you see as you approach Enkhuizen. These will bring you to our reception hall: the entrance pavilion at no.1 Sluisweg in Enkhuizen (GPS coordinates 52.692616,5.279789). The adjoining parking lot provides enough space to park your car. This costs 5 euros a day.

Most parking places in the centre of Enkhuizen are reserved for permit holders. This is why we advise you to park your car on the large parking lot at the entrance pavilion on the edge of Enkhuizen.
The city-side entrance to the Outdoor Museum is intended for pedestrians, cyclists and, if necessary, for (semi) disabled visitors

By Museum Ferry from the Entrance Pavilion

The trip from the entrance pavilion to the Outdoor Museum by Museum ferryboat takes about 15 minutes.

By Public Transport

You need to take the train to train station Enkhuizen. The Museum is a 15 minute walk from Enkhuizen’s NS Station. Follow the signs for ‘Zuiderzeemuseum’.

By Museum Ferry from the Train Station

It is possible to take the museum ferry to the Outdoor Museum. The ferry leaves from behind the Tourist Information Center (VVV) opposite Enkhuizen’s NS Station. Get your tickets in advance at the VVV office (except for when you have an Annual Museum Pass or an I amsterdam City Card) and you are ready to take the museum ferry behind the VVV office. Please hang on to your admission ticket on the boat.

On Foot from the Train Station

From the railway station you walk along the old harbour and under the Drommedaris. You cross the white draw bridge and turn right into the curve of the route. Walk on until you reach the old city wall, turn left and follow the wall until you see the entrance to the Indoor Museum on your left and, a little farther on, the entrance to the Outdoor Museum, on your right. The pedestrain route from the station is also shown on signs along the way.
