Enkhuizen plus

A visit to Enkhuizen is not complete without a visit to the Zuiderzee Museum, but it is also true the other way around! Combine the historic town centre of Enkhuizen with a visit to the town's largest museum that revolves around life in the early 1900s and have a tour guide bring that history to life.

The old town
Your guide will meet you at Enkhuizen train station and take you on a walk through the historic town centre. You will hear all about the city, its illustrious role in the Golden Age and some of its famous citizens. The tour will take you along listed buildings like the Snouck van Loosen House, the Drommedaris tower and the Zuiderkerk church, while you listen to stories about life in the past in the beautiful Snouck van Loosen Park.

Zuiderzee Museum
After your walk through the city, the guide will take you to the harbour of the island of Marken at the outdoor museum of the Zuiderzee Museum where craftsmen will demonstrate the art of net knitting and mending before you set off for a museum tour. You will see other craftsmen at work, meet inhabitants of times past, take a look in a family kitchen as it was in 1900, visit the chapel of the island of Wieringen and go shopping as they did in the old days.
